BFriend and Well-being is celebrating after its Team Lead, Pauline Winder, has been nominated and shortlisted in the Local Community Champion category of the Fylde Coast Community Awards 2025.
Since securing funding in 2023, Pauline has worked tirelessly to grow the befriending service into a thriving initiative that now supports countless people across Blackpool and the Fylde coast. The service offers friendship, well-being activities, and vital signposting, reducing isolation and improving community connections.
Pauline was quick to emphasise that the nomination is recognition of the whole team’s efforts rather than her own alone. She said:
"I’m truly honoured to be shortlisted, but this really is about the amazing people I work alongside every day. The volunteers, staff, and supporters are the heartbeat of BFriend and Well-being. Without their dedication and kindness, none of this would have been possible. This nomination is for all of us."
The Fylde Coast Community Awards will take place later this year, celebrating the individuals and organisations making a difference across the region.
