A Brighter Future Ahead: Tom’s Positive Futures Journey
Tom’s inspiring journey with Positive Futures in Wyre.
"Before Positive Futures, I felt lost and uncertain about my future. With their support, I’ve been able to get a bank account, manage my Universal Credit, and meet regularly with a Project Support Worker who helps me process my feelings. I’m also reducing my cannabis use and starting to look at real opportunities for work. Positive Futures has given me hope—and shown me that no matter your age, change is always possible." – Tom

Since joining the group, Pat has built meaningful friendships and found a sense of belonging. In this video, she shares her journey and reflects on the positive impact Befriend has had on her life.
Rob’s Story: From Community Navigator Support to Befriend & Wellbeing Volunteer
"I joined through Community Navigators, improved my mental health, gained confidence, and now volunteer, leading bingo sessions I truly enjoy."
Rob first engaged with services through the Community Navigators team, seeking support for his mental health. Through this pathway, he was connected into the Befriend & Wellbeing project, where he began attending as a participant.
What started as a step towards support quickly became something more. Rob found a welcoming space, built confidence, and saw a significant improvement in his mental health and wellbeing.
Within a few months, Rob progressed from participant to volunteer, now actively supporting and facilitating weekly bingo sessions, which he thoroughly enjoys. His journey highlights the importance of joined-up community services and how one pathway can lead to meaningful long-term change.
